meet the team...

Hello there, I'm Martin, I'm the Managing Director of Hargreaves, fourth generation of my family to have made Hargreaves our life's work. I started here at the age of 16 so I know the business inside out! I'm passionate about delivering traditional customer service, and taking the time to serve each customer whilst providing high quality traditional and contemporary products that make lives easier and more pleasant. My great-grandfather always aimed to deliver quality and value and that's still our mindset of our multi award winning store, and we believe in offering the very best products we can source. So allow me to introduce my team and brand to you, and present our very best from Hargreaves of Buxton

Hi, I'm Kelly, the store manager of our Retail store based in the beautiful town of Buxton Derbyshire. I married into this wonderful family business and established the Online store as one of my first achievements. What I like best about my job is the fresh challenges customers bring to us everyday which makes every day different and special. It also helps working with my husband as the next generation of our family business. The product I love best? That would have to be the cast iron casseroles from Le Creuset, they're built to last so whilst they're an investment, you know it's money well spent and they're just so adaptable, on the hob, in the oven, for roasting, baking, stews- everyone's favourite comfort food- and the colours are just gorgeous!

Hello. My name's Shirley. I've been a part of the Hargreaves team for nearly twenty years, I love working here as it's never the same day twice, customers and visitors to the town are always telling us how they like our shop, so it makes you feel proud to hear from everyone how highly they think of us. Things have certainly changed in the time I've been here, but we always seem to focus on the good quality products and make sure that even in a little town like ours, the range of goods is top notch. If was asked to say what was my favourite thing in the shop I'd have to say the beautiful Glitz range from Dartington- I love the sparkle of the Swarovski crystals and the elegant shapes- and they're really nicely packaged which helps sell them!

How do you do? I'm Teresa, the third generation of our family. I'm very pleased to welcome you to my family business. I was 14 years old when I began working alongside my father Percy; but this shop was a playground for me and my older brother Ken, way before where we'd slide down the bannisters! We ran a traditional China & Glass shop back then alongside my late husband Cliff, but in recent years we've expanded with great success. Whilst I'm technically retired, I still have lots to offer the business with years of experience to draw upon and my Son, Martin still asks for advice when he needs it, I like working with the young staff in the cafe too when asked; as they keep me on my toes and me on theirs! We've sold some beautiful things over the years, and currently at the moment I really like the William Morris table and giftware designs that are back in vogue again, they're so pretty! The favourite part of my job was dressing the shop windows, now handed over to Alysha. It has always been a joy to go to work as I loved my job and meeting people.

My name's Bettie and I'm Director of Security, which involves barking at noises and spot checking customers bag with a quick inspection . You'll often find me wandering around the shop so that's why we don't allow pets in store; unless you're an Assistance animal in which case come on in!
