Recycle reduce and re-use. We're all trying to be better and Hargreaves of Buxton has a few things to help- if we all just changed our mindset and considered the impact of our actions, we can help stall the (literal) tidal wave of single use waste in the UK. We've recently added to the site a number of products from Eddington's "If You Care" range- focused on not only making recyclable products but also how a product is made- how much water is needed to manufacture it, what effect will processing have on the environment... Take these sandwich bags. We used to use paper for all kinds of packaging, It fell from favour though when film wrap became commonplace in kitchens in the 80's. Goes to show there's nothing new in the world. Unlike the dreaded clingfilm, (did you know more than 1.2 billion metres, equating to 745,000 miles of cling film is used by households across Britain every year – enough to go around the circumference of the world 30 times over. these paper bags are food safe- 100% compostable, unbleached and chlorine free... so every packed lunch is kinder to the environment- the same range also includes, cake pans, loaf tins, compostable sponge kitchen cloths and more.

Also from Eddingtons we have these must-have straws that are really trending big right now- made from Stainless steel they're totally reusable! Sold as a set of six with a cleaning brush provided, you can keep one in your bag, one at your desk, one in the car... everywhere you'd enjoy a drink, keep a stainless steel straw- 8.5 BILLION plastic straws are used in the UK every year- just say no and do something good every day!
